Course Description
High Performance Polymers is a course that provides a comprehensive overview of exceptional materials. This classification of polymers exhibit strength, heat and flame resistance, or chemical resistance properties that far exceed those of more conventional polymers. This course reviews the material nature, processing and design use, and common applications for these robust materials.
Course Outcome
After completing High Performance Polymers students will be equipped with a basic understanding of the following:
- fundamental information for practical engineers working in industries that develop advanced applications (electronic industry, medical instruments, etc)
- material nature and performance for high performance polymers
- state-of-the-art polymerization, fabrication and application methods of high performance industrial polymers
- environmental impact and recycling of particular polymers
